Is the Disney On Ice character experience worth it? ›

Our Verdict: Is Disney on Ice Worth It? Whether you're a fan of traditional classics, or the latest Disney hits, Disney on Ice lets us recapture that little bit of magic from our home-away-from-home. Both kids and adults can enjoy the magic for an afternoon, and you don't have to travel to a theme park for it!

Doors scheduled to open one hour prior to show time. Show is just under two hours in length and includes an intermission. Please double-check your tickets for correct performance date/time.

Bring your own snacks.

Snacks like cotton candy and snow cones will be available for purchase at Disney on Ice. It will be more affordable and healthier, however, if you pack snacks from home.

Each Disney On Ice - 100 Years of Wonder performance lasts approximately 2 hours and includes one 15-20 minute interval.

HOW MUCH MONEY DO DISNEY ON ICE SKATERS MAKE? Salary is dependent upon how long you have skated with the company and how many and what parts you play in your production. New Skaters with Disney On Ice can expect their starting salary to be around $550 a week.

Disney on Ice performs in venues of all different sizes, including some that don't always have an ice rink. This will help you get an idea of where you'll be in relation to the show. Outside of trying to sit in one of the front rows, you should do your best to sit on the long side of the ice.

Really, it depends on your body temperature — if you're always cold then you'll want extra-warm clothes, and if you like to wear shorts in the snow then, well, you'll have no problem. Err on the side of overkill; bring layers to make sure everyone'll stay warm, but can also peel 'em off if needed.

Also, wear layers. The Disney on Ice temperature isn't that cold, but how cool or hot really depends on each person's internal temp (bring a jacket just in case).

There will be no line for beer.

The biggest perk of a child-centric show! There is no wait—we repeat, no wait—for alcohol. Does that offset the fact that drinks are about $10 a pop? Depends on how much you dislike Disney music, we suppose.

The last thing you want to do is carry a kid up and down 20 rows of stairs each time you do. To alleviate this issue, try choosing tickets in a row close to the concourse. At most indoor arenas, these seats are about 20-30 rows from the ice and have a comfortable view of the show.

4. Costumes Can Make It More Magical. Kids are welcome to dress up for Disney On Ice, and I saw tons of Disney Princess gowns and Toy Story costumes when my family attended a show. The fun, festive magic of Disney's amusement parks carries over into their Ice shows, so feel free to have fun with your fashion.
